Real estate settlement business relocates to Gloucester C.H.

The Closing Shop, LLC, a real estate settlement service, relocated recently from Ware Neck to a building on Martin Street, Gloucester Court House, which owner Bonnie Stainback has purchased.

Stainback said she handles all types of real estate settlements for clients on the Middle Peninsula and Peninsula, including those for houses, land and commercial properties. Attorneys prepare the legal documents that she finalizes.

Occasionally there are delays caused by title to a property, Stainback said, but usually that does not present a problem. She operates the business full-time, assisted by Darlene Whitley.

Stainback previously worked seven years as a paralegal in a Gloucester law office. She is originally from Williamsburg and earned a bachelor’s degree at Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University) in Maryland.

Her husband, R.D., is an undersea cable installer. They reside in King and Queen County.

Whitley is originally from Norfolk. She previously worked as a certified nursing assistant and later as an agent assistant for Southern Trade Realty in Gloucester.

Whitley resides in Middlesex County. Her husband, Jeff, is a plumber for a local union. They have three sons.
