Ready for the market to resume

On the first Saturday in April the Mathews Farmers’ Market held on the court green will be in operation. Among the many treasured vendors awaiting a visit from you will be Same As It Never Was. Bob Gordon and Kathy Kanaday, owners, offer hand-crafted novelty items and Kathy’s homemade breads.

The breads are original and a culinary treat. Baking is Kathy’s favorite method of cooking.

Kathy says she didn’t learn cooking or sewing when she grew up. “When it became necessary I taught myself and soon learned how much I really love to cook. I had been missing a lot””

It was sort of a hit-and-miss in the beginning, Kathy said, but she quickly got down to a practice she still uses today. “Everything I cook is fresh ingredients.” She even peels the potatoes for a mashed potato dinner.
