RCC to hold course next month on General Assembly

Rappahannock Community College’s Educational Foundation, the Rappahannock Institute for Lifelong Learning (RILL), announced that a new course, “Navigating the Virginia General Assembly,” will be held on Tuesdays, March 9, 16 and 23 from 1-3 p.m. via Zoom.

RCC professor Dr. Matt Brent will discuss Virginia’s governing body, including its history and constitutions. The relationship between the General Assembly and the Governor and courts will be explained. Structure and leadership and more will be explored during the course. Students will also discover who their representatives are and how to contact them.

Brent is a professor of U.S. History, Virginia History, World History, and Western Civilization at RCC. He also teaches courses on American Politics and State & Local Politics.
