RCC recognized as a ‘Great College to Work For’

Rappahannock Community College was recently honored by The Chronicle of Higher Education as a “2015 Great College to Work For.”

According to a press release issued by RCC, 86 of the 281 institutions surveyed by the publication achieved the recognition for specific best practices and policies. It said results are reported for small, medium and large institutions, with RCC included among the small colleges.

Specifically, RCC won honors in three categories, including its teaching environment, professional development. and compensation and benefits. 

“This is a very satisfying affirmation of Rappahannock Community College, but our real goal is not recognition—it’s being a community that values the needs and contributions of every individual,” said college president Elizabeth “Sissy” Crowther. “In that sense, everyone at Rappahannock Community College helps to make this a great place to work.”
