RCC receives grants to boost enrollment

The River Counties Community Foundation and the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education awarded grants of $12,500 and $45,000 respectively to support Rappahannock Community College’s community-based efforts to increase college enrollment among area high school students.

Along with the Verlander Foundation, the commitment of the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education and the River Counties Community Foundation provide students in eight area high schools with access to career and college coaching.

RCC career coaches work on-site with school guidance counselors in Gloucester, Mathews, Essex, Rappahannock, Washington and Lee, Middlesex, Northumberland and Lancaster high schools. Students receive support in developing academic and career plans, navigating the college application process, seeking scholarships and financial aid, campus tours and more.
