RCC ranked sixth in state for online education

Rappahannock Community College was named one of the top 10 online colleges in the state, according to rankings made by Affordable Colleges Online.

RCC was ranked sixth in the list of “2016-2017 Best Online Colleges in Virginia” among two-year schools. Affordable Colleges Online uses a proprietary metric that collects and analyzes data from every accredited postsecondary institution in the state to determine the best balance of academic excellence, student support and affordability for online learning, RCC spokesperson Tom Martin said.

ACO noted that RCC distance learners can choose from courses delivered through three formats: online, hybrid and interactive video, and also pointed out that all student resources offered on campus are available for online students as well. Both of these factors were reasons for the school’s ranking, Martin said.
