RCC offers millwright technology program

Rappahannock Community College’s fall 2010 semester features a new career studies certificate program, "Millwright Technology."

This career-oriented certificate gives students the opportunity to earn college credit along with a Journeyworker’s credential, said a spokesman.

Trade-related certificates offered by the college, which include Millwright Technology and Marine Trades Technology, are taught by RCC faculty. Also, due to some overlapping components in the millwright program, RCC is planning to expand its certificate offerings to include Green Technology, HVAC, Industrial Electrician and Welding.
"Our goal is to provide training for the businesses that have made our region strong, while at the same time meeting the needs of the industries that will find training programs already in place when they come to our area," said Rusty Bragg, program manager of RCC’s Workforce and Community Development Office.
