RCC graduation to be held Friday

Rappahannock Community College will hold its 45th annual commencement ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Friday on the school’s Warsaw campus. Speakers will include Jane Watkins, former president and CEO of Virginia Credit Union, and student Evon Cobb.

Longtime RCC staff member and Gloucester resident Sandy Darnell will carry the mace, which is used in the college’s ceremonies as recognition of the bearer for his or her service and leadership to the college. Darnell has been a student counselor for more than 25 years.

RCC spokesperson Eric Pesola said the college expects to award degrees and certificates to 821 students, an all-time high number for the school, during Friday’s ceremony. ...
