RCC enters into transfer agreement with CNU

Rappahannock Community College and Christopher Newport University, Newport News, entered into an agreement earlier this month that will allow students to transfer from RCC to CNU after they earn associate’s degrees.

The agreement will also allow RCC students in appropriate transfer programs who have met the GPA requirements (3.0 or higher) to start at CNU early and still earn their associate’s degree while on the CNU campus.

RCC president Elizabeth Crowther and CNU president Paul Trible signed the guaranteed admission and reverse transfer agreement on April 3.

According to RCC spokesperson Eric Pesola, the agreement will allow students to become a part of the CNU experience while earning credits that will apply to their RCC associate degree. After earning the degree from RCC, he said they will continue as CNU students, working toward a bachelor’s degree.
