RCC announces RILL classes for September

Rappahannock Community College’s Rappahannock Institute for Lifelong Learning (RILL) has announced its upcoming September courses.

“The Basics of Pickleball” will be held Sept. 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 9:30-11 a.m. on the Warsaw campus’s tennis courts. Paddles and balls will be provided. The class is limited to 10 students.

“Basics of Finance, Retirement and Estate Planning” is a three-part course being held Sept. 6, 13 and 20 from 1-2:30 p.m. on the Warsaw campus as well as through Zoom. Personal finance, liabilities vs. assets, cash flow, preparing for retirement, portfolio construction and estate planning will be covered.

“Shoreline Studies” will meet Sept. 7, 14 and 21 from 1-3 p.m. on the Glenns campus, as well as online via Zoom. Woody Hobbs, retired coastal geology specialist at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, will discuss how wind, tides, rising sea levels, storms and more affect beaches, barrier islands and tidal inlets.
