Raymond Carroll Gurganus, 84, of Hayes, died on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, at his home.

He was born in Oakman, Alabama, and was the son of the late Thomas and Dorothy Gurganus. He was retired from the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his children, Michael R. Gurganus, Marvin D. Gurganus, and Teresa G. Wooten, and one grandson.

Funeral services will be private.

Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, is in charge of arrangements.
