Ray Burnette Pyatt, 90, of Marion, N.C., went home to be with the Lord surrounded by loved ones on March 6, 2015.

Ray was a WWII veteran and a lifetime member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church. His greatest wish was to hear from the Father “Well Done, Thy Good and Faithful Servant.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Wade and Nola Moore Pyatt; wife of 65 years, Mary Swann Pyatt; a sister, and three brothers.

He is survived by one son, James R. (Jim) and Olga Pyatt; grandchildren, Judy and Jon Barlow, Stephen and Consuelo Pyatt, and Wade and Christina Pyatt; six great-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, March 14, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Chapel Hill Baptist Church, Marion, N.C., with a Celebration of Life service immediately to follow.
