Rappahannock Crossing to perform bluegrass at Bethany UMC

The George Nelson Memorial Concert Series of Bethany United Methodist Church, Gloucester Point, will present Rappahannock Crossing Bluegrass Band in concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17. The performance is free and open to the public.

The band was formed 2011 by five bluegrass musicians and friends from Virginia’s Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula who got together for just a “little jam.” From that time forward, the band has evolved into one of Virginia’s premier bluegrass bands and has performed all over the eastern region, a release stated.

Rappahannock Crossing’s band members include Randy Crittenden (dobro), Isaac Hyde (mandolin), Mike Nicely (guitar), Mitch Tohlson (bass), and Curtis Brizendine (banjo). The band performs many bluegrass standards and classics and also original compositions written by the band’s members.
