Rappahannock Community College TRiO helps first-generation students

Rappahannock Community College continues to strengthen its commitment to student success through TRiO, a federally-funded outreach and student support program designed to help first-generation, low-income and college-bound students achieve their academic and career goals. TRiO Student Support Services focuses on helping enrolled RCC students complete their degrees and successfully transfer to four-year institutions. Recent department activities include campus visits to the College of William & Mary, the University of Mary Washington and Virginia Union University, offering students firsthand exposure to transfer opportunities and university life. Ten RCC students also recently participated in the First-Generation Leadership Society to connect with other first-generation college students from across the country and build leadership skills.
