RANDOLPH JENNISON HAYES

Randolph Jennison Hayes passed away peacefully on Jan. 19, 2018. He is survived by Betty Fern, his beloved wife of almost 60 years. Additionally, he was the cherished father of Randolph Hayes Jr. (Lisa) and Pamela Willman (Bertram), as well as beloved grandfather of Reid, Jennison, Allison, and Kelly.

Randy was born 1932 in West Newton, Massachusetts to Roscoe and Alice Hayes. He attended Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts, graduated from Dartmouth College as well as the Tuck School of Business. While attending Dartmouth, Randy lettered in both football and lacrosse. He maintained a strong bond with his many Dartmouth friends.

Randy served as a Naval Officer prior to beginning a distinguished 30-year career with IBM. The following 10 years he was vice president of an international consulting firm. He retired to Jensen Beach, Florida in 1996. Additionally, Randy continued to enjoy summering at “Vinton,” his ancestral historic home in Charles Town, West Virginia.  

During his retirement, Randy and Betty pursued their mutual interests in golf and international travel. They also became active members in the Unity Church of Jensen Beach. Randy was an avid reader, sports fan, and crossword puzzle enthusiast. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Randy is remembered as a loyal friend and a mentor to many. He had a life well-lived and will be truly missed.

There will be a future celebration of Randy’s life.
