Randall to share memories of growing up in Bena

Marion Randall will share her memories of growing up in Bena at the Guinea Heritage Association’s Fourth Friday program, which will be held at 6 p.m. tomorrow at the Buck’s Store Museum.

As a child, Randall attended the Bena-Hayes Rosenwald School. Through school, she found her calling in education and eventually taught at Achilles Elementary School for a number of years. Forever an educator, last year she helped organize the GHA’s “Wonders of the Water” program to teach children about crabs, oysters and the lives of watermen.

Randall’s recollections are unique yet speak to experiences beyond Guinea, a release stated. Growing up in a world that was changing, her presentation promises to give a personal glimpse into history. The presentation is open to the public and will be followed with time for questions as well as light refreshments.
