RALPH RICHARD HOGGE

Ralph Richard Hogge, of Achilles, born Nov. 21, 1938 passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013.

He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester County. Throughout his 74 years Ralph overcame many obstacles. Being hearing and speech impaired with having polio at a young age, he demonstrated remarkable ability and will power in coping with the many challenges of life.

He was well known, as well as being very well liked in the community among his many friends. Ralph had a passion for deer hunting and the subsequent story telling about his hunting adventures. Ralph had a great love for his family, especially his younger nieces and nephews. We will all miss him very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie S. and Ella Florence Hogge.

He is survived by his brother, Barry Hogge and wife Nancy; sisters, Judith Thomas and husband Wayne, and Gloria Jessen, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to especially thank Ralph’s caregiver, Shirley Hudgins, for her faithfulness, care and support she gave to him over the past several years.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart will be held at 12 noon on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at the funeral home.
