Winners in the Rappahannock Art League’s 64th annual Labor Day Art Show were announced by sculptor and show judge Christopher Wagner during a reception held on Friday at the RAL Art Center in Kilmarnock.
“Summer,” an oil painting by Heidi Christensen, was selected for the Best in Show Award for its “ethereal nature,” said Wagner.
James Dylan won the Lel-la Lee Memorial Award for Overall Excellence for his acrylic painting “The Mason,” Annie Barsky won the Maggie Gillman Memorial Award for Excellence in Photography for her photograph “Move,” and Sharon Mason took home the Joan Robinson Memorial Award for Best Mixed Media Abstract for her fiber art piece “Details of a Sunset.”
Other memorial awards went to Patty Mochary, the Donald R. Kennedy and Sharon Mundy Memorial for Most Creative Use of Color in any Media for her watercolor “The Favellas,” and Doug Mock, the Anne Hayes Memorial Award for Excellence in Watercolor for his watercolor “Mixed Media.”
