RAL Art Center has two April exhibits

April art exhibits at the RAL Art Center, located at 19 North Main Street in Kilmarnock, are titled “From the Garden” and “A Moment in Time.”

The RAL members’ open exhibit, “From the Garden,” has 73 original art works, including paintings, photography, fiber, glass and sculpture. The shows will be on display until April 27.

The member exhibit was judged by Betsy Henderson. Henderson has been involved with the visual arts for her entire life from selling her first painting at age 7 to her most recent role as Executive Director of Gloucester Arts on Main.

For first place, Henderson selected “Garden View,” fiber art by Barbara Brecher.

Second place went to a pastel by Linda Dessaint, titled “Garden Love.”

Henderson selected “Modern Witch,” a watercolor by Laura Bobbiesi, for third place.”

Honorable mentions went to Brenda Sylvia, Jacquie Colligan, Laura Edwards, Laura Brady, Alicia Daily, Johnny Hayes, Annie Barsky, and Laurie Breakwell.
