RAL Art Center announces photo winners

Photographer Harold Burnley received first place in the RAL Art Center’s Photography Show for his entry “Survival of the Fittest.” The show’s judge, photographer and owner of the Yours Truly Studio Steve Kancianic, commented on the photo’s beautiful composition, sharpness, and how it is evenly lit.

Winners of the RAL show were announced at the First Friday reception on Dec. 1 at the RAL Art Center, 19 Main Street, Kilmarnock. The members’ artist show is on display on mobile display units. The show includes 34 original photographs. This exhibition opened Nov. 28 and will be on display until Dec. 30. Because he was unable to attend the award ceremony, Kancianic videotaped his comments about each photo in the show to share with the artists.

Second place went to “Live Oak-Brook Green Garden, S.C.” by CarolAnne Taylor. Kancianic noted that the photograph has a beautiful composition and good detail. Third place was awarded to “Copper Mountain” by Jeff Barsky because of its “beautiful ...
