Raffle winner

Dennis Geary of Onemo, center, was the winner of a basket of international wines last Friday in a raffle sponsored by the Mathews Museum of History. He is shown here with raffle organizers Elisa Provensen, left, and Janet Gallaher. Provensen said the wines were representative of “places you couldn’t go during the pandemic. Like a European tour of wines.” In addition to a dozen wines, the basket included a selection of cheeses and a number of wine accessories. The raffle raised over $2,200 for the museum’s operating expenses. The next raffle includes Virginia wines from Governor’s Cup Award-winning vineyards, she said. Tickets are on sale at the Mathews Farmers’ Market.
