Racist graffiti found at Peasley MS

A week after Mathews High School was forced to deal with the issue, a similar instance of racist graffiti has cropped up at Gloucester’s Peasley Middle School.

On Friday, Dr. Anthony Vladu, superintendent of Gloucester County Public Schools, shared with parents, staff and the community that racist graffiti had been found at Peasley Middle School earlier that day.

The graffiti depicted a threatening message toward the African American community and was found in a sixth grade bathroom stall. The content of the graffiti was very similar to what was discovered earlier this month at Mathews High School, according to Vladu.

Vladu said he learned of the graffiti from a Peasley parent shortly before noon Friday. The school division immediately informed the principal. Director of Secondary Instruction Dr. Diron Ford reported to the school at noon that day.
