Racing action returns to Middlesex track

Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway returns to racing this Saturday to host Virginia National Guard Dirt Series Twin Race Night. After a couple of weeks off, racers are anxious to get back to chasing the 2014 division championships.

This Saturday night, all five divisions will be competing in a “Twin Race” format. The Victory Lap Late Model, Aaron’s Pro Late Model, Truckin’ Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Car divisions will all race in two features during the evening.

Heading into week seven, Justin Williams of Shipman, leads the Victory Lap Late Model points; Bobby Thompson of Concord, leads the Aaron’s Pro Late Models, Hunter Shelton of Fredericksburg leads the Truckin’ Thunder Sportsman; and Matt Quade of Mechanicsville, Md., and Brian Bradley of Hopewell, lead the Collision One Limited Stock cars points.
