Rachel J. Payne of Gloucester, was born Dec. 22, 1955. She departed this life Monday, July 29, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ann Carey Payne; sisters, Brenda Payne Wright and Joyce Payne; brother, Tyrone Payne, and nephew, Daniel Paige.

She leaves to cherish her memory four sisters, Diane Paige, Marcia Sutherlin, Sharon Payne and Dale Payne; four brothers, Wayne Payne, Garland Payne, Kevin Payne and Gene Payne; uncle, Frank Carey; aunts, Lola Field, Rosetta Gaines, Sylvia Payne, Charletta Jordan and Ellen Harris; sister-in-law, Sarena Payne; brothers-in-law, Harold Paige and William Wright, as well as 19 nieces, and 17 nephews.

The funeral service was held Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at the First United Baptist Church, Gloucester. Interment was in the church cemetery.
