R. Kenneth Campbell departed this earth peacefully on Jan. 16, 2016, after an unexpected illness.
Kenneth grew up in Newport News and lived in Richmond, Va., during his later years. Kenneth loved life, nature, books, music, friends and family. He marched to the tune of a different drummer; welcoming a lively discussion on most any subject, at any time. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy Kenneth and Lucy Law Campbell.
He leaves behind two sons, Matthew S. Campbell and Joshua R. Campbell, wife Neva; six grandchildren; two sisters, Sonya (Penny) Dixon and John, Bonnie Charles and Jeff of Gwynn’s Island, Va., and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a special time of remembrance and celebration of his life at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at Commonwealth Chapel, 1836 Park Ave., Richmond, Va. 23220.
