Quilts on display during Market Days

Mathews Market Days brings crowds to the county, and many of them visit Mathews Memorial Library, where exhibits are on display that range from history to special literature. As in past years, an exhibit featuring quilts will be located throughout the library.

Sponsored and arranged by the Bay Quilters, the exhibit is a big hit, said library director Bette Dillehay, with more than 50 handmade, unique items included. The handmade art will be on display both Friday and Saturday during library hours of operation, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Bag Full of Fun

The library also has a “Bag Full of Fun” planned for Friday, Sept. 9, as part of Market Days 2016. Youth and teens are in for a treat after school when the fun begins at 3 p.m. with a Scavenger Hunt, with clues leading participants to various sites throughout the village. Prizes will be awarded.
