Pullen leads Dukes to 1st win with 278 yard, 4 TD performance

Senior Devon Pullen rushed for 278 yards and four touchdowns to lead Gloucester High School to its first victory of the season, 28-20, at Menchville last Thursday.

“It was good to see them smiling coming off of the field,” Gloucester coach Brandon Kelley of his players. “They’ve worked hard all year and this gave them something to hang their hats on.”

Pullen, consistently ranked among the top six Peninsula rushers this season, recording over 900 yards as the 2014 schedule came to a close.

He got to work early last Thursday and scored the only points of the first quarter to put the Dukes up, 6-0. He scored again early in the second quarter before the Monarchs got on the board with a TD. Watkins Yeager hit a field goal for Gloucester prior to the break to make it 15-7 at the half.
