Public hearing Tuesday on Mathews condo permit

The Mathews County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors will hold a joint public hearing Tuesday to consider an application for a conditional use permit.

HARC, LLC, a construction firm of partners J. Ellis Hall and Harry Corr of Gloucester and Walter Alford of Mathews, is requesting a permit for 12 condominium units on property adjacent to the Town Center development on Main Street and Buckley Hall Road.

The units would consist of nine single-family dwellings and three professional offices.

The permit calls for amending setback and yard regulations of the zoning ordinance.

The commission will also have a public hearing on reducing yard regulations of the zoning ordinance from 50 feet to five feet for the placement of data poles for broadband internet services.

In other matters, the commission will consider its 2010 annual report, adopt a meeting schedule, hear a presentation of a concept plan for residential development in the B-2 zoning district, discuss amendment...
