Indus Psychiatric Services, LLC opened for business recently at Mathews Town Center. Dr. Sandhyo Raj of York County is a psychiatrist. She is joined here by Seanna Jones, a resident in counseling, who is training as a licensed practical counselor.

Raj said she dispenses an assortment of medicines to help clients, and that about 12 percent of clients can be treated without medications.

Indus provides mental health services for men, women and children.

Raj said she sometimes works with patients that Jones sees in group and individual therapy sessions, with Indus using the slogan “Being Human.” Raj said she often is called into court to provide testimony.

Besides current services, she plans to add laughter yoga therapy, where a group stands in a circle and laughs which releases endorphins to make you feel better.
