Winners of the Piankatank River Ladies Golf Association’s Aug. 25 play day (Individual Stroke Play – Gross) at the Hartfield course were:
First flight: Nina Carter (first place, 80), Martha Wiggs (second place, 83) and Kelly Lowe (third place, 87). Second flight: Gail Thomasson (first place, 92), Chong Hudgins (second place, 100) and Bobbie Stuck (third place, 101). Third flight: Lynne Richardson (first place, 114), Kay Lloyd (second place, 116) and Vicki Carr (third place, 117).
On Aug. 23, seven members of the PRLGA participated in the Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club Invitational. The event was a fundraiser to benefit the fight against domestic violence. Participating PRLGA golfers were Sally Austin, Mary Francisco, Donna Lange, Lisa Lavery, Roseanne Moncure, Christy Pitts and Chrystal Welch. Welch and Lange won second net in the tournament with over 100 female golfers participating.
