Winners of the Piankatank River Ladies Golf Association’s June 30 event (Criss Cross) were:

First flight—Michele Meanley (first place, 35), Christi Lewis (second place, 36) and Martha Wiggs (third place, 37).

Second flight—Lisa Lavery (first place, 40), Roseanne Moncure (second place, 41) and Chrystal Welch (third place, 41).

Third flight—Donna Lange (first place, 38), Kay Lloyd (second place, 43) and Chong Hudgins (third place, 43).

Match play

This season, the PRLGA and two other groups competed in a tri-club match play event. Joining the group from the Piankatank River Golf Course was The Club at Viniterra and the Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club.

Each club played 12 teams of two, with the title going to the teams with the most points at the conclusion of all three matches at the respective courses. Matches began on May 11 at the Piankatank River Golf Course resulting in the PRLGA scoring 12.5 points, The Club at Viniterra with 6.5 points and a score of 8 going to ICYCC.

The three clubs played on June 8 at The Club at Viniterra with scores of 7 for the PRLGA, 12.5 for Viniterra and 7.5 for ICYCC. The final match was played at ICYCC on June 29 with Viniterra emerging as the winner with 32 points. The Piankatank team scored a total of 29 points and the golfers of ICYCC earned 20 points.
