The Piankatank River Ladies’ Golf Association held a Fairways and Putts contest on Aug. 10 at the Hartfield course. Winners were:

First flight—Gloria Matthews (first place, 43), Chrystal Welch (second place, 28) and Kelly Lowe (third place, 13). Second flight—Ann Stanley (first place, 30), Mary Dorman (second place, 24) and Victoria Hitch (third place, 24). Third flight—Marny Richardson (first place, 27), Karen Gorin (second place, 23) and Kay Lloyd (third place, 16).
