Priscilla Balanis Outland, 72, of Gwynn’s Island, died May 19, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur G. and Ethel A. Balanis and husband, Bruce Daniel Outland.

Survivors include a brother, George A. Balanis of Williamsburg; three step-children, and three step-grandchildren.

She was a graduate of Newport News High School, Class of ’58 and attended the Hampton Roads Business College. She was employed by NASA’s Langley Research Center, Hampton, for 30 years. She was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Newport News, where she was a member of the Philoptochos Society, the Daughters of Penelope, and the Hellenic Women’s Penelope Society.

A Trisagion prayer service conducted by the Rev. George Chioros was held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
