Curtis Graff opened the first Primerica office on the Middle Peninsula in early January.

Graff runs the business full-time from an office at Abingdon Square, Hayes. His wife, Paula, assists him in the office occasionally.

Based in Duluth, Ga., Primerica offers clients a wide range of financial products, Graff said, including life insurance, annuities, long-term care, 401(k) plans, investments, legal protection, and debt solutions.

In addition to promoting its financial products, Graff said, he offers free financial consultations to help local families plan for the future. He said Primerica tries to target the middle class and assist with their needs. Primerica began in 1977 with an emphasis on life insurance, Graff said.

Before relocating to Gloucester, Graff had worked for Primerica in Minnesota for eight years. Previously, he served 23 years as a police officer in Minneapolis, being injured in the line of duty.
