On Saturday, Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will pay tribute to two of the best decades in country music—the 1980s and 1990s. This first-time “Prime Country” show will be held at Mathews High School’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30.
“These two decades truly had some of the best artists and songs in country music history,” stated Li’l Ole Opry president Lynda Smith. Audiences will hear great music from stars of that era, including Martina McBride, Travis Tritt, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Diamond Rio, Brooks and Dunn, Alabama, Garth Brooks, Joe Diffie and many more.
The Opry band and singers William Earl Sadler, Richard Smith, David Shuber, Sam Hogge, Lynda Smith, Mike McDevitt, Mike Gregg, LeighAnn Abbott, A.J. McKeen, Ralph Motley, Susan Ripley, Tracy Hill, Faith Kemp and guest Walt Stillman will stir up some old memories with the classic songs.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. They can be purchased in advance...
