Now that we find ourselves in the midst of peak hurricane season, a special meeting was held Tuesday for Gloucester and neighboring localities to plan for the worst, if and when it comes. Federal Emergency Management Agency Region III Administrator MaryAnn Tierney, above, addresses the group of local officials at the meeting, which was held in Gloucester’s Emergency Operations Center. Tierney and officials from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management spoke about how the county governments can work with larger agencies and one another to ensure a quick and robust response in the wake of a disaster.
