All post offices and waste facilities in Gloucester and Mathews will be closed on Saturday, Jan. 1, in celebration of the new year.

County administrative offices in both counties will be closed on Friday, Dec. 31.

The commissioner of the revenue and treasurer’s offices in Mathews will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for the holiday, while their counterparts in Gloucester will be closed Friday only.

General District Court in both counties will be closed Thursday and Friday. Circuit Court Clerk’s offices in both counties will be closed Friday only, but the Circuit Court in Gloucester will be closed both Thursday and Friday.

All DMV Customer Service Centers will be closed Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1 for the holiday. ABC stores will close early, at 6 p.m., on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Libraries in Gloucester will be closed Friday and Saturday, but the book drop will be open. Mathews Memorial Library will be closed Friday through Sunday.
