Post office accident

A 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by an 87-year-old Gloucester Point woman ran into the Gloucester Point Post Office around 12:34 p.m. Monday, according to 1st Sgt. Greg Mathias of the Virginia State Police. Mathias said the woman was in the parking lot when she had a medical episode and ran into the building, causing significant damage. There were no customers in the building at the time, he said, and no one else was injured. The driver was transported to Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. The incident was investigated by trooper Jeff Teagle and the driver was not charged. Above, a man drives the vehicle away from the post office building.
