Post 75 juniors beat Denbigh, 2-1

The Gloucester Post 75 juniors got by Denbigh Post 368 in eight innings, 2-1, in American Legion baseball action last week. Michael Diodato hit a walk-off double to score Tanner Payne and get the win for Gloucester.

Jordan Harvey pitched seven innings for Post 75, giving up just one run in the first. Wesley Kellum picked up the win in relief following Harvey’s strong performance on the mound.

With Gloucester still trailing, 1-0, in the sixth, Diodato singled and advanced to second on a passed ball. Harvey then drove a 0-2 pitch through the left side of the infield to tie the game at 1-1.

 

Kellum relieved Harvey in the eighth. Post 368 loaded the bases with one out before Kellum induced a ground ball to Brett Lindsay at third base. Lindsay threw to catcher Marshall Barrack for the second out, and Barrack threw to Diodato covering third for the final out of the inning.
