New equipment for the Port Fun playground near Mathews High School is expected to arrive soon and demolition of the old playground equipment is scheduled to begin Monday, according to Mathews building official Jamie Wilks.

Bliss Products, the company that has been contracted to provide the playground equipment, assured Wilks that once demolition is completed and the new equipment arrives, construction of the new playground will take approximately one week.
