A pair of political forums featuring candidates for Mathews County Board of Supervisors and Mathews School Board will be held this morning and tonight in Mathews, and a third has been scheduled for next Thursday, Oct. 28, on Gwynn’s Island.

At 9:30 this morning, Thursday, Oct. 21, the Mathews Resources Council will hold its hybrid forum at Mathews Memorial Library in person and on Zoom. Login information can be requested by sending an email to adlitmidpen@gmail.com.

From 7-10 tonight, the Piankatank Ruritan Club will hold its in-person forum at the club on Buckley Hall Road in Hudgins.

G.I. Civic League

The Gwynn’s Island Civic League will hold a candidate forum at 7 p.m. next Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Gwynn’s Island Civic Center, 1996 Old Ferry Road, Gwynn.

Because of COVID-19 concerns, and to create a safe environment for everyone, the forum will be a drive-up event, said the release. Candidates will gather in the gazebo, while those attending will park in their cars ...
