Police Unity Tour

School librarian Shannon Kerr said Page Middle School students wanted to create a wall of appreciation for fallen police officers as a project, and that is what greeted the Police Unity Tour when it rode into the Page bus loop on Tuesday. The surprised bicyclists were clearly touched by the lineup of 650 Page students, most holding up the memorial plaques created to honor officers they researched who died in the line of duty. The students also had black and blue wristbands to give the two dozen survivors of fallen officers who where part of the tour. The bikers paused at the school for a brief ceremony before returning to their route from Portsmouth to the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial in Washington, D.C. ...
