Polar Plunge team to hold Poker Run fundraiser

The Ice-Aholic’s Polar Plunge team will hold a Poker Run fundraiser on Sunday, June 26, to raise money in support of the Special Olympics of Virginia. Bike registration will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Damon & Company, Gloucester, with all bikes out by 11.

The route will take riders to Baybound Bar and Grill in Saluda, Lovells Place in West Point, Zoll Vineyards in Dutton and Gloucester Brewing Company, before returning to Damon’s. The cost is $10 single; $5 for rider.

The Gloucester-based Ice-Aholic’s team was the top Special Olympics fundraiser twice in the region, and is looking to make it a “three-peat.” This year’s Poker Run will be open for the first time to cars and trikes, as well as motorcycles.

The day will include vendors, raffles and door prizes, and music from the Bill Miles Band and Elliott Entertainment.

The poker hand drawing will be held at 3:30 p.m.
