Poker Pedal benefits B&G Club

The Boys and Girls Club of Mathews is again supporting Tour de Chesapeake’s Poker Pedal to raise funds for the Garden Project at the club.

This project teaches the Boys and Girls Club youth where food comes from, expands their taste for vegetables and herbs, teaches healthy eating practices, and gives them pointers on how to cook healthy foods.

This project is supported the Poker Pedal and individual donations. Bikers who are registered for Tour de Chesapeake online or who sign up in person at the registration from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday can participate in a five-card stud poker game for an extra $10.

The 12-mile bike route connects five stops: Thomas Hunter Middle School, Mathews County Visitor and Information Center porch, Williams Wharf, parking lot at Tatterson Greenhouses, and Brian and Julia’s Farm on Tabernacle Road. All participants will be given a map of the route with Poker Pedal stops identified.
