Point branch circulation on the rise

Circulation was down at the Gloucester Library in Main Street Center in November, but up at the new branch at York River Crossing Shopping Center, Hayes, library director Diane Rebertus said.

In a Dec. 6 report to County Administrator Brenda Garton, Rebertus said circulation at the main library was 13,473 this November, down from 14,871 last November. At the Point branch, circulation for November totaled 3,465 this November, compared to 2,094 in November 2010. The Point branch celebrated the grand opening at its new location in October.
Bookmobile circulation was about the same in both months, with circulation at 953 in November 2011 and 945 in November 2010.

Also, 141 new patrons were logged at the main library in November, 82 new patrons at the branch, and 7 new patrons at the bookmobile.

Computer hours for November totaled 1,906 at the main library, down from 2,635 hours in November 2010; 616 computer hours at the branch, up from 352 one year earlier.
