Mathews potters Karen Podd and her husband, Robert, have been named the March Artists of the Month by the Bay School Community Arts Center. Their work will be featured in the school’s Art Speaks Gallery throughout the month.

The Podds established their business, The Poddery, 42 years ago in Mathews. Ever since then, they have been “throwing” pots, creating pottery in their studio and kiln, said a press release. They make both functional pottery as well as unique and decorative pieces.

Vintage Vibes

Also on display during March is the Vintage Vibes show, featuring artwork that incorporates vintage themes and/or components. Pieces span eras, genres, and styles, and include an assortment of wall art, wood, multimedia, collage, paintings, fiber art, jewelry, and assemblage.
