PLESENT WILLIAM “MIKE” GOODE

Plesent William “Mike” Goode, IV was born April 10, 1945, in Mobile, Alabama to Plesent William Goode, III and Robbie Eastland. Plesent died in his home on January 20, 2024. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Escous Goode and Bruce Augustus Goode. He married Alice Louise Jones on June 8, 1968, and they had one daughter, Anna Lawanika Goode Morales (Carlos). He had five grandchildren, Alexander Julian Brazil Morales (Alyssa), Carlos Antonio Luis Morales (Alyissa), Christian Roberto Morales, Destiny-Grace Iris Morales, and Isabella Mariah Goode Morales, one great-granddaughter, Haven-Grace Mariah Morales, one aunt, Annie Lee Carroll, and one cousin, Larry Carroll. Mike received his Bachelor’s Degree from Hampton Institute, Hampton, Va., and his Master’s Degree from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Radioman on the USS Kittiwake and retired from NASA Langley Research Center where he had worked both as an engineer and in management. He coached high school football and enjoyed kayaking and reading. A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Ken Cramer, will be held in the Chapel of Hogg Funeral Home on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. A repast will follow at the DAV Social Hall at 6265 Professional Drive, Gloucester, Va. Entombment ceremony will be on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park at 12750 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, Va. Services under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home & Crematory.
