Planners vote to recommend BLA text amendment

The Gloucester County Planning Commission voted unanimously to approve a code amendment regarding modifying the language for nonconforming lots involved in Boundary Line Adjustments at last Thursday night’s virtual meeting.

Though county supervisors previously approved revisions to the code amendment last November, staff’s concern about the language is a result of a BLA not approved because it did not conform to the requirements even though it would likely be supported by the planners and permitted by the supervisors.

According to a staff presentation, the revisions included clarifying BLA requirements for nonconforming lots in the zoning ordinance, clarifying the definition of a BLA in the subdivision ordinance and correcting a code language reference.
