Planners to review slew of old business items tonight

The Gloucester Planning Commission is scheduled to review several old business items during its monthly meeting tonight at the colonial courthouse on Main Street, beginning at 7 o’clock.

The first item of new business is the discussion and adoption of the Rules of Procedure, which the planners requested several revisions for at the January meeting. The revisions were proposed in order to align the Rules of Procedure with state code requirements, provide staff and the commission flexibility, and incorporate various grammatical and reference corrections.

One notable proposed revision is for director to be referenced as the “Director of Planning, Zoning & Environmental Programs,” since the department has been reorganized as the “Department of Planning, Zoning & Environmental Programs.”

Staff is also scheduled to provide the commissioners with an update on the potential rezoning around the Glenns intersection (Routes 17 and 33/198), which includes 24 parcels. The rezoning...
