Planners to hold rezoning public hearing tonight

The Gloucester Planning Commission will hold a public hearing tonight on a rezoning case during its regular monthly meeting at the colonial courthouse, beginning at 7 o’clock.

Applicant Timothy Trant, on behalf of River Club on the York, LLC, is requesting to rezone approximately 2.6 acres of the 29.1-acre River Club at Twin Island development from Planned Unit Development (PUD-1) (conditional) to PUD-1 (conditional) with revised conditions and proffers.

The applicant’s intent is to utilize two undeveloped parcels to construct 40 townhomes. These parcels were previously designated for three condominium units with a total of 54 units, but the development plan for the condos was never approved.
